Corporate Responsibility

The future; CSR as a company wide philosophy

Introduction

Through our cleaning and support activities Victoria General Cleaning Services' objective is to help our clients maintain and improve their working environments. This is not only for our client's workforce, customers and visitors but also in response to an understanding of the role hygiene plays in corporate efficiency and reputation.

We believe that the quality of our business lies in the quality of our staff, our integrity and our responsibility towards not only them but also the environment in order to protect it for future generations. It is the management's objective to set that agenda and ensure it is understood and adopted within working practices throughout all company activities.

Victoria have developed this statement "Corporate & Social Responsibility" to demonstrate how our own approach to operations, our business ethics and approach to staff, society and the environment can support our clients' own CSR positions. This is not a static policy, but one which is continually reviewed by the board and against which the performance of Victoria 's delivery against benchmarked standards is evaluated.

What CSR means to Victoria and our Management

There are 4 key areas that Victoria have developed active CSR policies, this document seeks to set out an introduction to the philosophies and approaches that are central to the way we do business and run the organisation. Those areas are
Environmental issues; ensuring the impact of our activities on the environment is minimized though consideration to the way we conduct our business; the materials, energy and power we use together with waste we produce or have responsibility for managing.
* Health and safety; consideration to the tasks, processes and environments in which Victoria operates, ensuring activities do not place our clients or staff at risk and having a commitment to all staff for Health and Safety training.
* Staff and workers; maximizing potential of all staff members, treating them ethically and enhancing their skills though commitment to training. Socially recognising their contribution to society and enabling their own family work life balance to be achieved.
* Clients and their businesses; maintaining open and honest working practices and dealings with clients to support corporate reputations and minimise risk. Providing ongoing levels of service agreed at the outset of a contract with no drop off in standards and achieving 'best value' practices.

Whilst Victoria has always sought to deliver against these standards we now strive to measure and monitor performance and encourage all our staff and managers to take responsibility for their delivery. CSR management information is central to guiding our continuous improvement policy and focusing business resource to ensure social, environmental and ethical objectives are met.
